Rating Magical Creatures:
Now some beast/beings/Spirits are more dangerous than others. Though some creatures get higher ratings because they are endangered or difficult to capture and train. So the Ministry created a system to rate these creatures. Below is a chart of the ratings found in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
X - Boring
XX -Harmless/may be domesticated
XXX - Competent wizards should be able to cope
XXXX - Dangerous/requires specialist knowledge/skilled wizard may handle
XXXXX - Known wizard killer/impossible to domesticate or train

Other Magical Creature Notes:
The ministry has also implemented laws that require caretakers of certain creatures to hide the beast. An example of this law would be, owners of hippogriffs are required to use the Disillusionment Charm on them. This charm keeps them hidden from Muggles and is recommended re-cast daily to make sure the effects are still there.
Now some of you that have taken Muggle Studies might know about the term Zoology. For those who have not taken Muggle Studies that is the Muggle term for studying creatures. But you are learning Magizoology in this class. Magizoology is the study of magical creatures.

X - Rated Creatures:
Flobberworms:
- So let’s bring out the first one. Our first creature is the Flobberworm. The Flobberworm is a class X creature, so it’s pretty well harmless. Now as you can guess it lives in the dirt, it does, however prefer damp places. This brown creature is 10 inches long and eats lettuce and cabbage but it will eat pretty much any sort of plant. Now they don't really know when they've eaten enough, which kills them if they over eat. Now if you look closely you cannot tell which end is which. But don't get to close; this worm produces mucus that is also used in potions as a thickening agent. Well that’s about it for a Flobberworm. Let’s bring out our second and final creature for this lesson.
Horklumps:
- Now our second creature doesn't really look like a creature but more like a pink mushroom, its name, The Horklump. Its covered with black wiry bristles. This creature was native too Scandinavia, but is now found throughout Europe. Now your wondering what they eat right? Well they use their underground tentacles to spread out and find their favorite food, the earthworm. These creatures are fast at breeding. They can cover an average garden in a matter of days. Other than being eaten by gnomes they don't really have much use. One of the only known ways to get rid of Horklumps is with Streeler Venom. That's about all you need to know about the ever exciting Horklump!
