Lesson 5: XXX-Rated Creatures Part II
Billywig:
The Billywig is native to the country of Australia. It grows to 1/2 inch tall and stands out with its sapphire color. These creatures have wings that are attached to their heads. With their wings on their heads they must rotate
extremely fast in order to fly. The bottom half of its body is a long stinger. Most people do not know that they have been stung by these creatures until they become very giddy and then begin to float. Young witches and wizards like to tempt these creatures into stinging them so they have the side-effects of the sting. Though be warned if stung to many times you will be floating for days without any control. Though if you have a severe allergic reaction to these stings you might have to float forever. Though a gross fact about these creatures, they are said to be used in the popular wizarding candy Fizzing Wizzbees. Which is why I refuse to eat them...

Doxy:
Ouch! Now watch your fingers for this creature. Its known as the Biting Fairy. Yep, that's right its a doxy. Now don't get this creature confused with a regular fairy. Yes they both have a human like body and stand at about the same height. Though the doxy has thick curved wings sort of like a beetle, along with an extra pair of legs too. These creatures are covered in small black hairs also. These creatures lay up to 500 eggs at a time that will hatch in about 2-3 weeks. So they reproduce quite rapidly. They can be found in cold climates of North America and Northern Europe. Now you must watch out for these little things. They have 2 rows of razor sharp teeth with venom. So if you are bit by one of these you better take the antidote other wise it won't turn out to pretty.
Fwooper:
From fire shooters to birds that make you go insane. Yes I'm talking about Fwoopers. These colorful African birds come in a variety of colors ranging from pink, lime green, orange, or yellow. Some of the fanciest quills come from this creature because of its unique colors. They also lay patterned eggs too. Now like most birds they sing. The Fwooper song at first is very enjoyable and welcoming. Though after a while the song will drive you crazy. Literally! Now that is the reason why these birds are sold with a silencing charm on them which needs to be re-done every month. Fwooper owners need a license as well. So before we all go insane we shall move on.
Hippogriff:
Most people remember the Hippogriff from the Harry Potter Book "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azakban" Though Hagrid didn't teach his class everything about hippogriffs. First of all they originated in Europe and they are nowadays found worldwide. Now you all know this creature is a mix an Eagle's head and wings with a body of a horse. Unlike Miley Cyrus's song "Can't be Tamed"
Hippogriffs can be tamed but only experts should attempt this. When approaching a Hippogriff you should always keep eye contact and bowing is usually what most expert use as it shows the animal that you do not mean to harm it. If the animal returns your welcome you can approach closer but still slowly. Now these creatures dig for their food which mainly consist of insects though they will eat small birds and other small mammals. Now as for breeding, Hippogriffs will build a nest on the ground and then lay 1 very big and very fragile egg. This egg will hatch in 24 hours and then once the baby Hippogriff is about a week old it should be ready to fly! Though it will take a lot longer before they can do the longer journey their parents take.

Kneazle:
Here is another creature that you might have seen before. Its a Kneazle. This creature is catlike and was bred in Britain at first. Nowadays you can find it worldwide. Now these creatures have flecked or spotted or even speckled fur and oversized ears with a lions tail. Now these creatures are extremely smart and can help you if you get lost. Now they can also detect shady characters near you which makes them good for guarding a house. Now these little kitties can have up to 8 kittens in one litter, and also if you are thinking about getting one for a pet you must also get a license.
Mackled Malaclaw:
Have you even ate Mackled Malaclaw before? I hope you haven't! Mackled Malaclaws look just like lobsters, just their skin is not for human consumption. If you eat this creature you'll get a terribly high fever and a green rash. It sounds wonderful doesn't it? This creature can grow to 12 inches in length and can be a light gray color and can have dark green spots. It has a tendency to tackle larger prey if it can't find any other smaller crustaceans to eat. Be careful around this creature as well. Its bite can cause the victim a week of horrible luck! So if you are bitten by one don't be trying to place any bets!
Niffler:
Are you a treasure hunter? Because this next creature would be perfect for you. The Niffler is also from Britain, but this creature is a burrower. It is all black and fuzzy with a long snout, perfect for digging. Nifflers LOVE shiny objects. Which is why goblins keep them in caverns for treasure hunting purposes. These creatures can be very gentle and loving, but just as most creatures, Nifflers have a horrible temper and can be very destructive. So don't keep these in your house. Now they live in the wild about 20 feet under ground and can also have around 6-8 young at one time.
Plimpy:
Have you ever felt nibbling on your feet while you swim in a lake or pond? Well a Plimpy probably got the taste of you. A Plimpy is a little ball that lives underwater with webbed toes so it can swim and walk around on the bottom of the lake or pond. Plimpy's like water snails as their food, but like to nibble on people's toes. Merepeople have been known to tame these creatures but they are also pest to Merepeople too. When the Merepeople are tired of dealing with them they just tie the Plimpy's legs in a knot and toss them away. The Plimpy can't move until it unties its legs which can take a while.
Salamander:
Please, we are not going to be talking about the muggle Salamander. Muggles don't know anything about this magical creature. Salamanders are brilliant white that eat a fire's flame. But the more heat there is around a salamander it can turn either blue or scarlet depending on how much heat there is present. Salamanders need fire to survive. If they are without fire for to long they will perish unless they are fed pepper regularly. Even if they are fed pepper they can only live up to 6 hours like that. Salamander's blood also has many magical properties, but is most commonly used in healing.
All the Salamanders were busy with the magical fires, so I couldn't get a picture of one for you to see.
