Lesson 4: XXX Rated Creatures - Part I
Ashwinder:
Ashwinders are thin pale-gray serpents created by magical fires. They have glowing red eyes and uses them to seek out a dark corner to lay its eggs. You can easily find where an Ashwinder has been because it leaves an ashy trail behind itself. The Ashwinder only lives for 1 hour before dropping into a pile of dust. Now lets talk about these eggs they lay. These eggs are brilliant red and give off extreme head and can set an entire house on fire in a matter of seconds. If there are eggs in a residence you should find the eggs and perform a proper freezing charm on it. Now if you do this properly Ashwinder eggs can be used to cure ague, and love potions.
Crup:
Lets talk about Crups. These creatures look a lot like those muggle creatures called dogs. To be more specific more like a Jack Russell terrier. Though there is one MAJOR difference in these to creatures, the Crup has a forked tail. This creature started out in the southeast corner of England. It tends to be very loyal to magical folk which makes them good pets for wizarding families. Though be warned they are insanely fierce towards muggles which is not good if you like in a muggle town. Now these creatures have a taste for gnomes for some reason as well. Which is good if you have a gnome problem. Just keep them away from those muggle garden gnomes. I don't think those would be good for a Crup to try and eat. Now if you want to own one of these creatures you must get a license from the Department of Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures
office. Though in order to get the license you will have to complete a simple test proving you can handle a Crup. Now owners of a Crup must perform a painless severing charm on the Crup's tail when they are about 6-8 weeks old. Otherwise those curious muggles will be talking about your strange pet.

Firecrab:
No this creature is not a crab at all. Its more a very large tortoise that lives on the shores of Fiji, which is now a protected area for these creatures. (If we take a field trip we're going to see a Firecrab >.>) Now these creatures are very valuable because of their shells. Their shells are encrusted with shiny gemstones. Though don't come up from behind one of these creatures. They aren't called Firecrabs for nothing. When feeling threatened they can shoot fire out their back end.
Hippocampus:
Let move from flying creatures to a water creature. To be more precise, a water horse. Now these creatures have appeared in many Greek Myths throughout the years, mainly because this creature originated in the country of Greece. The Hippocampus has a front have of a horse and back half of a large fish. You can find these creatures swimming in the Mediterranean. Now in 1949, by the shores of Scotland, a group of Merepeople caught a Hippocampus and then tamed it and they have been used by Merepeople ever since then. Now Hippocampi lay semi-transparent eggs where you can see the tadfoal inside the egg. (And no I did not make up that word "tadfoal")
Knarl:
No this is not a hedgehog. Its a Knarl. Knarls live in northern Europe and America. They look exactly like the muggle creature the hedgehog but there is one thing different and it is in the behavior of the Knarl. Say we have a Knarl and a Hedgehog setting in front of us. How would we figure out which is which? Well we would set up a little experiment. (Don't worry it won't hurt them) We would set food in front of both of them, the muggle hedgehog will gladly take the food and eat away. Now the Knarl will turn the food up because it takes you are trying to lure it in a trap. Then after that it will go and ruin your garden, or even attack your garden ornaments. Aren't they nice?
Lobalug:
You want simple I got simple for you. That's right I'm talking about a Lobalug. This creature consist of a spout and a venom sack. Simple enough for you? Well there is some more I can tell you. This 10 inches creature lives in the Black Sea and Merepeople will use this creature as a weapon because of its poison. Now this poison is very dangerous, so handle it with care. As dangerous as it is, it can be used in some potions but this is highly controlled and only skilled witches/wizards should deal with it.
Murtlap:
Are you scared of rats? If you are then the Murtlap is not the creature for you. The Murtlap is a rat like creature with a weird sort of growth that looks like a sea anemone on its back. These creatures live in the costal regions of Britain.
When you pickle and eat those growths on a Murtlaps back they can help you resist curses and jinxes. Though if you eat to many your ear hair will turn purple. Murtlaps eat small crustaceans of the toes of anybody that accidently steps on them. Cover your toes!

Pixie:
Peskipiksi Pesternomi! Its a Pixie attack! Well, now that I've told you what the spell is, you better use it! Now if you have ever been to Cornwall, England you will know about this creature. Its electric blue color is one of the
brightest known in the world. Pixies stand at about 8 inches tall. Pixies are stellar flyers, but they have no wings. Pixies love flying by a human and picking them up and putting them on top of a tree. Pixies make high pitched noises as their form of communication.

Red Cap:
Do you like dwarves? You might not anymore after this next creature. Red Caps are dwarf like creatures that have a taste for blood. If human blood touches the ground you can bet a red cap will make a hole to live in right there. That's why red caps LOVE old battlefields. Red Caps live all over Europe. Oh if you need to get rid of a red cap simple hexes and jinxes will work. Just make sure no muggles get near them because red caps have a tendency to bludgeon them till they uhh you know...die.
Shrake:
Well students I would love to tell you lots about Shrakes but...there really isn't much information available to tell you. But never fear I shall tell you as much as I can! We'll start with how they were created. Shrake, are fish. But this fish's body is covered entirely with spines. Horrible spines that could rip a fisherman's net to nothing...actually, that's what the Shrake was made for. One day a crew of muggle fishermen were fishing in the Atlantic Ocean. A crew of wizarding fishers sailed by and those muggles insulted the wizard fishers. So to get revenge the wizards created a fish that had spines all over its' body so it would destroy the muggle's nets. Well their planned worked very well, but the fish didn't stop with just the one crew. If a muggle ever goes fishing in that certain patch of the ocean they shall find their nets torn to pieces.
